Stepping towards the greater heights even during its early stage, the institution has established a reputed status among the upcoming colleges during the last three to four years. The most remarkable achievement of the institution is that its students have bagged at least forty one trophies in various curricular and co-curricular activities conducted in various Inter-college competitions including Zonal Youth Festival for the Educational colleges. The institution also nourishes the young brains in proper measures and this is proved by our final university examination results. The overall result came out to be 100% and at least 96 students out of 99 appeared in the final exams, attained 1st division. Moreover, to improve the working standards of the institution so as to combat with the complexities of the modern era, our institution has moved in forward direction by establishing various cells namely Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Placement Cell, Students' Grievances Redressal Committee, Guidance and Counselling Cell and even Old Students' Association under the guidance of its staff. The major pillars of the institution i.e. its staff members believe in the continuous development of even their personality & to pursuit this aim, they have presented many research papers at various State/National/International Level seminars held at various educational colleges. Two of our faculty members underwent Professional Development Programme organized by NCTE in collaboration with INTEL held at Khalsa College of Education, Amritsar. To improve its various standards, the foremost plan of the institution is to expand the infrastructure of the institution to provide maximum amenities to the students. The functioning of the cells like Placement Cell, Guidance and Counselling etc. will be improved by adding new features like follow-up service in the Placement Cell, invitation to various specialists to provide guidance and couselling service and so on. The major plan for the forth-coming session is to conduct its First convocation so as to give due recognition to its students. The other activities like workshop on micro lesson preparation, different inter house competitions to be conducted by various clubs like Science Club, Literary Club, Social Sciences Club, Mathematics Club are also in line for the future session.

Resume of the Institution Session 2009-10

Sri Guru Angad Dev College of Education, Khadur Sahib is a renowned name in the line of Education colleges of Punjab. The institution emphasizes quality education in addition to personality enhancement of the future teachers. The pupil teachers are getting maximum opportunity in curricular as well as co-curricular activities so as to flourish their personality. This aim is accomplished with the efficient working of various cells, clubs committees viz: IQAC, Guidance & Counseling cell, Grievance Redressal cell, Placement cell, literary club, Cultural club, Social Science Club, Science & Maths Club, Old Students’ Association etc. The Students of this institution have been giving remarkable performance in various co-curricular activities and in various inter-college competitions and have bagged at least twenty trophies in various items. The institution has maintained its tradition of 100% pass percentage in the university final examination(Session 2008-09) and has shown excellent result by securing at least five distinctions and ninety six 1st divisions out of total ninety nine appeared students. Another achievement of the institution is that it has conducted its first convocation for the previous four sessions during this session. The institution assists the teacher-educators and other faculty members in their maximum & continuous professional growth by giving them enough exposure. The faculty members have been participating in paper presentations, seminars, conference, workshop throughout the academic session. The faculty members have also performed the evaluation duty of various theory papers at University level. Two of our faculty members have got enrolment in the Ph.D program. One member is pressuring M. Phil. and another member is pursuing her M.Ed. course. In the nutshell, the institution provides enlightenment to all those coming into its vicinity.
From the future perspective, the institution is visualizing to incorporate innovative practices. The institution is moving to establish resource centers and more clubs, cells etc. The institution will also add new material in its infrastructure so as to make the total functioning of the institution efficient.

Resume of the Institution Session 2010-11

Sri Guru Angad Dev College of Education, Khadur Sahib has established itself as a unique professional institution by practicing innovative programmes. The institution attempts to cultivate right values among prospective teachers by providing them versatile experiences related to teaching skill as well as humanitarian skills. For this purpose, various cells clubs, committees and resource centres namely: IQAC, Guidance and councelling Cell, Grievances Redressal Cell, Placement Cell, Psychology Resource Centre, Health and Physical Education Resource Centre, Library Resource Centre, ICT Resource Centre, Science and Maths Resource Centre, Art and Craft Centre, Literary Club, Sports and Tourism Club, Cultural Club, Social Science Club, Students’ Council, Old Students’ Association etc. are running successfully. By becoming the active members of these functional bodies, our pupil-teachers are acquainted with the requisite abilities needed in the educational structure. The pupil-teachers get their personality flourished by participating in various inter-college competitions in addition to the youth festival.
It has been great honour for the institution that its founder Sant Baba Sewa Singh ji has been decorated with ‘Padam Shree’ award by the President of India on 31st March, 2010, for his vigorous involvement in the environmental conservation movement by encouraging plantation. Inspired by his selfless service, the whole institution has set its motto towards conservation of environment and has successfully organized a ‘National Level Inter-School Competition’ on this theme. The faculty provided their selfless service at the National Seminar on environmental conservation designed by the Mahatma Gandhi State Public Administration. More environmental projects are in the line which will be accomplished with the total cooperation of faculty members and students. It is worth mentioning that Sant Baba Sewa Singh ji is presently engrossed in a multi-dimensional educational project ‘Nishan-E-Sikhi’ at Khadur Sahib which will enlighten in the fields of environmental and religious studies, sports, career and guidance arena and also prepare for various competitive examinations like IAS, IPS and NDA. The main credit for this project also goes to S. Kartar Singh Thakral from Singapore for his unconditional contribution. As our institution publishes its annual college magazine ‘ANHAD’ revolving around a specific theme, the latest edition (2010-11) highlights the mega project, ‘Nishan-E-Sikhi’ and is ready to be unveiled on the inauguration ceremony of Nishan-E-Sikhi on April 18th, 2011.
The institution has maintained its tradition of hundred percent pass percentage in the university final examination during the session 2009-10 and has shown excellent results by securing atleast eighty first divisions out of total ninety eight appeared students.
The institution emphasizes the professional growth of its faculty as well by providing them sufficient developmental programmes in the form of seminar, conferences and so on. Recently, three of our faculty members including the head of institution presented the commendable suggestions during the ‘National Framework for Teacher Educators’ held at Khalsa College of Education. The whole faculty has got ‘Council for Teacher Education’ Punjab membership and has also been presenting their papers at State/National/International level seminars with great zeal and enthusiasm. Two of our faculty members are perusing Ph.D. programme, one member M.Phil. programme and other member M.Ed. program is near completion. Moreover, the institution has taken initiative to organize literacy programme by giving adequate education to its illiterate workers.
At present, the institution is providing requisite facilities to its faculty members and prospective teachers so as to facilitate this programme smoothly and efficiently throughout these years, the instituton has been attracting many foreign experts and from the future perspective, the institution is planning to facilitate the teachers exchange programme with other countries. The institution is stepping towards collaboration with more and more schools so as to make the placement of students at grand level. More facilities and apparatus will be added in the infrastructure to strengthen the institution. The instiruion is also planning to introduce more courses of study to meet the demands of the region.
